How to Print Files with or without Comments and Track Changes
Skip to step 3 if you want to print a file without comments and Track Changes.
- Select the Review tab.
- Select All Markup in the Display for Review menu.
- Select the File tab.
- Select Print in the Backstage view.
- Ensure that your printer is selected in the Printer menu.
- Select the first Settings menu.
- Select or deselect Print Markup from the drop-down menu.
- Select the Print button.
Word will minimize the size of the document to fit the comments and Track Changes on the paper.
How to Print a List of Comments and Track Changes
- Select the File tab (see figure 2).
- Select Print in the Backstage view.
- Ensure that your printer is selected in the Printer menu.
- Select the first Settings menu.
- Select List of Markup from the drop-down menu.
- Select the Print button.
Bonus Section: Save a List of Comments and Track Changes as a Separate File
You can save a list of comments and Track Changes (a.k.a., the list of markup) as a separate PDF that can be reconverted into a Word file.
- Select Microsoft Print to PDF or Adobe PDF in the Printer menu. (You will only see Adobe PDF if you are an Adobe Acrobat subscriber.)
- Select the first Settings menu.
- Select List of Markup from the drop-down menu.
- Select the Print button.
- Name and save your PDF in the Save Print Output As or Save PDF File As dialog box.
You can then convert the PDF to a Word document, if necessary.
